Tuesday: Back to School (and more)
After 13 days away, today I returned to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at Dhulikhel. The German students, Julia and Paula are still here. This is their last week here. They told me about the Holi/Color Day celebration they attended yesterday in Kathmandu's Durbar Square. it sounded like chaos -- like they were physically assaulted with color.
I saw the interesting apex on this tooth today. I would really like to see a CBCT image of that apex.
The American dentists were demonstrating another zygoma implant case today. While they were operating in an adjacent room, dental surgeons from all over the KTM valley watched the procedure live via a camera feed -- from this room with narration by one of the Americans.
Nisha visited Dhulikhel today to meet with Anil and Manisha to finalize the plans for this weekend's 7th Annual CDEAN meeting, which will be held at the Dhulikhel Lodge resort (DLR) as a destination CE meeting.
We went the the DLR to re-verify the adequacy of the meeting spaces and to finalize arrangements.
The views from the DLR are fantastic. Today had limited visibility due to air pollution.
I saw many beautiful flowers today and took multiple photos. This one may be the most interesting.
Bamboo grows incredibly well here. I am amazed at the height and circumference of these bamboo. They may have up to a 4" diameter and heights of over 30'.
After the meeting-scouting work, we enjoyed cappuccinos at the DLR coffeehouse. Life here is so civilized!
Manisha changed into fancy clothes at the end of the day. She was going to her cousin's cousin's wedding tonight in Banepa. Red seems to be the woman's garment color for such special events.
After work I walked into town and had a "chicken cutlet" for dinner. It was pretty good. I might have preferred it without the orange sauce, but it wasn't too spicy and not too greasy either.
