Saturday: Day 1 of the 7th annual CDEAN meeting

This morning, Ryan and I were the speakers for a hands-on endo seminar. Ryan did the heavy lifting, while I was his "Ed McMahon." 

 

My friend and AAAHC colleague, Susan, arrived from the US today. Dr. Kafle (and his daughters) brought her to Dhulikhel from the KTM airport.

We celebrated with a welcome beer.

In the afternoon we took a walk around Dhulikhel and saw many interesting sites. Here was a music festival (and maybe competition) where different Newari bands played drums and cymbals.

We must have seen 30 shrines/temples during our walkabout. At the largest temple, I ran into the my pediatric resident friend, Neha. She and her family had catered a meal for a HUGE group (more than 100) of elderly people. Apparently every Saturday someone provides a free meal to elderly Dhulikhel residents at that temple. I liked this tiger statue.  

We saw this view of the North valley on the walk back to DLR.
