Monday: A National Holiday, "Holi" day!

Today is a national holiday in Nepal. The dental school is closed. This morning I got up and walked to my cleaners to see if my laundry was ready. Surprisingly, they were open and my laundry was ready. I noticed on the receipt how they misspelled "Slip" as "SLEEP."

Next, I looked for some breakfast, but all of my favorite restaurants were closed, including the TikTok Burger House.

I stopped off and bought some bananas on my walk home and had some bananas and a peanut butter sandwich (and some instant Starbucks coffee) for breakfast. This bunch of cute little bananas cost me $.90.

I saw this ad/sign for bison wieners. I haven't seen the word "bison" related to water buffalo before, but I assume that's what they're talking about here. They can't be talking about American bison?

I spent most of the rest of the day working in my room. I watched a movie on Amazon prime and took a shower and a nap.

The regional Fulbright office sent out a load of photos from the professional photographer they had at the Regional Conference last week. I found myself in these two images. Can you find me in the crowd?

For dinner I made some ramen noodles, or Wei-Wei, as they are termed here. Nepalis often will eat this raw -- like a snack food. I added boiling water and made a soup. I only used a small amount of the flavor packet -- and it was still very spicy.

And then I saw the sun set.
