Thursday, my first guest arrives in Nepal: Dr. Leslie Hayes
Then Dr. Kafle picked me up at 9:30 and and we went to the airport where we received my Bozeman, Montana, USA colleague and friend, Dr. Leslie Hayes. Leslie and I have known each other since 1991, but we haven't seen each other in 4.5 years! With the slowness of the airport and traffic, we didn't get back to the Kumari Inn until nearly noon. After Leslie got checked in and freshened up, we walked up the road for coffee and a light lunch.
Then we walked more than a half-mile up the Ring Road and found a quiet place for a cold beer.
On the walk back, we passed these veg & fruit stands.
I had arranged for 2 Kantipur University final-year dental students to meet us at the Kumari Inn so we could go to dinner together. We walked the Ring Road in the other direction to a restaurant frequented by these students. I had some tasty tandoori chicken and a veg spring roll. Leslie bravely tried some spicy chili chicken momos.
I saw the sun set from my window seat.
Glad you were able to connect up with Leslie!
