Thursday morning in Kathmandu
I was at the Dhulikhel dental school on Wednesday. I saw Paula and Julia treat several patients.
Around 3:30, I loaded my bags into Dash's car. With Bianca, we drove to the Dhulikhel guesthouse where she had been staying and collected her luggage. While waiting there, this fishmonger came walking down the street yelling "Fish! Fish!" (in Nepali). He was carrying the fish in a basket balanced atop his head. I wish I had a photo of that. Dash asked him to show us his fish (and I caught this photo). It looks like a small carp and a catfish. I forgot to ask what he was charging for these fish. I haven't eaten much fish here. I have seen fish curry only a few times.
Then the three of us drove to Kathmandu. I saw this sunset enroute.
We stopped at Dash's dental office and picked up a small 3-D printer that he is taking to Bangladesh. The Kathmandu traffic was terrible.
Next We picked up Dr. John (a German dentist who had been visiting here for the past month) from his hotel in Thamel (a touristy district of Kathmandu). Dash and Bianca had visited Dr. John at his remote village location last Friday/Saturday. It was Bianca and Dr. John's last night in Nepal, so Dash had invited them over to his home for a momo supper. I was tired and declined that invitation. Instead, I was deposited at the Kumari Inn, where I soon was asleep.
I awoke to this Kathmandu sunrise and enjoyed my typical Kumari Inn breakfast.
Later this morning Dash & Nisha are picking me up and we'll fly to Dhaka, Bangladesh. My laptop is staying at the Kumari Inn, so I'll probably not be posting here for a few days.
