Saturday... and I feel like %$#&!

I didn't sleep well last night. I had chills – – despite the room being 30° C with a down sleeping bag. This morning I have a headache, bodyaches, and fatigue. I made a number of visits to the commode. I saw the sunrise and joined Leslie for breakfast, but I hardly ate anything. The chills make me think of fever/virus, but who knows.

I returned to my bed and slept almost the entire day. This is the worst I've felt since coming to Nepal. With Ramu's help, Leslie was able to get a taxi to visit the Peace Pagoda (Buddhist) and the Shiva statue (Hindu). She also visited a waterfall with a subterranean cavern.

Then at 4 PM, I rallied, and leslie and I walked to the Lakeside district where we had a really nice dinner at the Landmark Hotel. I had way more food that I could imagine eating. Leslie had a cosmopolitan. I had a Sprite. We saw the sunset from our balcony table.

Leslie then headed off to work further along the lake while I caught a taxi back to the Yellow Pagoda Hotel: $4US. I was exhausted. I'm back in bed now at 6 PM. We were planning to meet up with the fourth endodontist in Pokhara, but she's pregnant and I decided she didn't want to be around my illness, so we canceled that meeting.

Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. We have a morning flight back to Kathmandu and then we are returning to Dhulikhel

  1. Nothing worse then being sick in a foreign land far from home! Get well.
