The Day after New Year's Day (Monday).

Wow is it cold! I know I keep saying that -- but it is uncomfortable. I am so glad I have two small heaters and a down sleeping bag in my room and that I have long underwear, fleece-lined trousers and multiple sweatshirt and fleece layers as well as a down jacket and a fleece hat and gloves. Amazingly, the endo dept office has decent heat --about the only room in the entire school!

This morning was the foggiest I have seen here, with really limited visibility. The sunrise was semi-obscured.

Manisha is on leave this week and so is Siras. She is visiting her husband and family in another part of Nepal, and Siras is caring for his wife and newborn daughter. So that just leaves Anil and me at the Department of Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry. Today, the final year students are having a major (3-hour) comprehensive examination on Endodontics and Conservative Dentistry. I saw the questions -- they looked challenging!

I had a delightfully sunny lunch at the Canteen with Dash & Anil today. I thought I was acclimating to the spicy food, but this curried squash was spicier than I expected. I saw this big tub of cauliflower gleaned for tomorrow's lunch.

The 3rd year students are practicing cavity preparations today on extracted teeth.
