Sunday: Day 2 of my "American Weekend"

Wheras everyone else in Nepal works a 6-day week (Sunday is their Monday), I am taking "American Weekends." Even so, I spent most of my day in my room working on my computer.

In the early afternoon, I took a break for lunch and some sunshine. Instead of going to my typical Canteen (by the dental school), for the first time, today I visited the supposedly bigger and better Canteen in the heart of the hospital campus -- and very close to my room. This is the open kitchen as I awaited my order.

I took my meal to the balcony patio. Because the hospital is on a steep hillside, the view and the sunshine were both great. When I selected this potato dish, I thought it would be hot/warm -- but it was actually a cold curried potato salad. I had to pick out the many peppers and onions to make it mild enough for my palate. It is always too much food for me.

Also from this seat, I could see the new Ward building under construction. I am fascinated how this structure is rapidly rising without any skycranes or even any cement trucks!

The weather here is spectacularly the same every day: warm sunny afternoons and chilly nights. I have not yet seen any precipitation, nor any wind.

Ok, my American Weekend is now over...
