Saturday December 3: Attending the Nepalese Prosthodontic Society's Annual Meeting
On Saturday I was invited to attend the Nepalese Prosthodontic Society's Annual Meeting. The meeting was so well-attended that they had to cut off registrations a month ago due to meeting space limitations -- and yet they let me attend! Even though I am not a prosthodontist, the group and all attendees of the meeting were incredibly gracious and welcoming to me. I actually met many endodontists who were in attendance. I was asked to be a moderator for the presentations of the keynote speaker, the esteemed prosthodontist, Dr. Stephen Rosenstiel, of Ohio, USA.
Here I am with Dr. Rosenstiel and his wife, Enid.
Here I am presenting Dr. Rosenstiel and another speaker with their certificates. I got a certificate too!
Here is a video showing the extensive assortment of foods available at the buffet lunch:
Some of my students from the Tribhuvan University Institute of Medicine Dental School attended the conference. These traditionally-dressed women students performed a spectacular dance routine for the entertainment of conference. Here is a weblink to watch a 6 minute video their dance:
The men students were critically helpful in getting me a ride-share back to my Inn at the end of the day. My ride-share cost $4.75 US. One of the men rode with me. He said he lives near my Inn, but I think he was really just making sure I got home ok.
