Karl Woodmansey visits Nepal as a US Fulbright Scholar

Welcome to my blog. I'm Karl Woodmansey, a dentist/endodontist/educator from the USA. I am a recipient of a US Fulbright Scholar Award to Nepal for five months from November 2022 through April 2023. I departed Dallas Texas on November 15 and arrived in Kathmandu Nepal on November 17. I was met by my host, who then drove me 27 KM east to the town of Dhulikhel.

As a Fulbright Scholar, I will share knowledge and promote mutual understanding between the people of Nepal and the people of the United States through a wide variety of educational activities. My specific Fulbright program is designed to facilitate my teaching and research at the Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (KUSMS) Dhulikhel Hospital Institute of Dental Science. The intent is to improve the quality of dental and endodontic education in Nepal. This project aims to assess and improve the didactic and clinical undergraduate dental and endodontic curricula and to potentially develop a post-graduate endodontic curriculum. I will provide other collaborations as needed.

This blog will detail my dedicated educational activities as well as my observations about the people, culture and geography of Nepal. I welcome your questions and feedback.

This blog reflects my personal opinions and in now way speaks for the US Fulbright program.
